Pumpkins :)
So recently a friend of mine asked if I would make her new grandson a "pumpkin hat" ... so I searched for a free pattern and came up with two immediately. The first one was found here :
http://www.favecrafts.com/Crochet-for-Baby/Baby-Pumpkin-Crochet-Beanie
and the second one was found here :
http://www.repeatcrafterme.com/2012/09/crochet-pumpkin-hat-pattern-and-giveaway.html
I not only made two hats for her grandson I also made a hat for my newest grandson, and another for a friend's son who is almost one year old. Then I made yet another infant sized hat for a family member who wanted it for a gift. They are both really easy patterns and the hats are so C U T E !!!!
So my time is now being turned back towards the sweater for myself that had been set aside for a while ... and also towards a really cute headband pattern I just came across today!
Wishing you all 'frog free' projects!!!!
A place to read about whatever's on my mind ~ and potentially a place to read about my adventures in crochet :)

How Time Flies!!!!
Since last I wrote ~ the shrugs were finished on time & I've been busy with lots of different things.
Recently I was playing around on the Bernat website looking through their free patterns. And I came across a shawl collar short sleeve sweater. I can't wait to work on it ~ for Me!!!
I had a top in the works and was almost done with it but it was not fitting the way I wanted, and I wasn't happy with it enough to finish it and wear it anywhere.
Well I just frogged the entire project and hope it is enough yarn to work up this one ;-)
If this works out well I can see me making it in several colors!!!!
Stay tuned :-)

Shrugs on my hook
My sweet granddaughter requested a new shrug~ in time for Easter Sunday ~ I love what I've come up with & already know exactly what I'm making for my other lovebugs ( the girls ) shrugs :)
Haven't made the baby items & yes they are still on my must do list :)

Oh Baby Baby what to make next????
Infant dresses, hats, booties, baby afghans, daddy deployment blankets, and the list goes on ... add to all of the baby items on my "wish to make" list there are more ruffle scarves to be made ... and then in the process of looking through my yarn stash I come across several "UFO's" (Un-Finished Objects) that make me want to get them finished!!!
Today I think I will attempt my hand at a new pattern ...only if my drippy nose stops long enough :) if not then back to more scarves that are so cute & fast to work up!!!!
I have several patterns ready to try when I do I will share which ones and pictures :)
I still need to post a pic or two of the recent baby afghan I made ~ the free pattern from Red Heart called Sunny Throw I simply made 25 squares instead of the full amount required for the full afghan & then after joining them I crocheted around the trim edge the way I wanted.
It came out so pretty!!!! Unfortunately my photos are on my phone & I'm working on my laptop right now so later I will get on with my phone & post a pic of the baby afghan ;)
Wishing you all frog free projects!!!

More ruffles
When I made my first ruffle scarf my 8 yr old granddaughter wanted it ~ to which I immediately said, "No" but it didn't take me to long change my mind.
I will admit it looks great on her dainty neck :)
So naturally I will now make her younger sister one as well :)
What have you been busy working on?
I had to get my desk under control again so hopefully it will remain half way decent for a while???? Hopefully being the operative word here.

Clearance Sale finds...
Went to Joann's in search of one skein of Red Heart Boutique Sashsay yarn in Black ~ but they did not have any ;(
But then I walked around (hoping they really had it just placed elsewhere) and saw a sale bin with several yarns without labels marked 75% off!
Well it didn't take much for me to decide these yarns needed to come home with me!!! At the checkout I managed to pick up $50 worth of yarn for $12!!!! Now that's good shopping :)
Really, ~ it wanted to come home with me!
Wishing you all great sales & "Frog Free" projects ;)
Happy Crocheting :)

Here's the you tube link I mentioned :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0RI04BU6p4&feature=share
This is the link I mentioned in my last post regarding how to easily work with Red Heart's Boutique Sashay yarn. Now I will admit that I almost immediately altered it to suit me & my style :) For example I find working 10 loops on to be a bit much so I use 7 and I also don't care for the method of beginning so I fold over the beginning edge several times then insert my hook & begin working.
Then I do go back & "tack" it with a few quick stitches with thread & a sewing needle so that it is more secure.
I hope if you give this a try you will find it easy to work with and enjoy the scarves you make from it :) great for yourself, or to give as gifts!!!
Happy crocheting & may your projects be "Frog Free" keep the rip-it's away!!! :)

Ruffles, ruffles & more ruffles!!!
Sashay ribbon yarn seems to be the yarn to play with these days in case you haven't tried it perhaps you should.
I know those videos showing you how to use this yarn are, ... well how shall I put it a bit frustrating not really that encouraging umm not extremely helpful!!
Someone recently shared a YouTube video showing how they work with this yarn so incredibly EASY!!! Seriously folks I'm telling you you've got to give it a try.
I'm posting this from my phone when I am home I will try to find that YouTube video link to share so that you can see what I'm talking about.
These days that is what I've been most busy with outside of the gym / pool.

New Year ~ projects galore!
Happy New Year!!!!
Hope your year is off to a great start! So far mine is off & running on the right foot.
I get up at 3 am to take my thyroid med go back to sleep til 4 am when I officially start my day ~ get up & dress for the gym.
Yeah I know I'm crazy but that is the best schedule for me.
Been really working at getting back to where I was before the error was made with the settings on my V-Pap machine (for my sleep apnea ) way back in 2011.
In case you aren't aware I was losing weight, eating healthy & doing fantastically right up to the point my machine to treat my sleep apnea needed resetting & a card with the wrong settings was sent to me. Immediately (ok so within a week) I hit a plateau weight that had been dropping steadily suddenly stopped. I continued doing everything as I had been only to find my self exhausted & frustrated at no progress. A few months later I broke down & stopped paying such close attention to what & how I was eating, then I traveled and any thought of managing my calories/carbs went on a vacation of its own! Well needless to say my weight climbed back on until I was back up to my previous weight from back in 2009 :(
So in search of "Me" yet again I decided to begin again & what better way than at the beginning? When I had started my journey several years ago I had been going to a local YWCA to walk/jog in the pool in the early morning. That option was no longer available to me (their indoor pool is closed ) so I searched for some place w/ an indoor pool & thank God I found one that meets my needs.
Joined back in late August (2012) building up to getting back to more serious exercise. These days I get up to an hour or more of cardio M-F followed with 30 minutes or more in the pool!
The final key is what & how I eat. So Jan 2nd (yes this year lol) my food journaling is back in full force!!
Now since none of that has anything to do with crocheting let me tell you I've been really busy working on ruffle scarves & skinny scarves & chemo caps!
And if that isn't enough I've also got two scarves on my knitting needles!! So all in all my year is off to a great start & I'm looking forward to seeing results as God sees fit.
